Frustration leads to negative energy and negative energy leads to poor results.
It is way too easy to get caught up in this vicious cycle, especially when it comes to your sales and marketing efforts. Unfortunately I way too much personal experience with this in my past. Have you ever wondered why your small business stalled out, even before it ever really had a chance to get started?
I’ve read a number of books or listened to countless hours of audios explaining why this happens to us. What it really comes down to is our thoughts. Positive thoughts will lead to positive results and negative ones will always tend to produce negative results. To quote a program I was involved in years ago “To Think is to Create.”
When we learn to not have too many expectations in life we are on our way out of this cycle.
Take for instance Social Media. All the trainers out there talk about creating regular valuable content and to be posting daily. Not everything we post will get the results we desire, however it is about being consistent and over time the results will build for you. Yes, it takes faith at times to keep going even in the face of lack of engagement.
It may just be your next piece of content where you connect with a future business partner, or perhaps it’s the one after that, we just don’t know. However you do know, stopping putting out new material will surely lead nowhere, other than more frustration.
One of marketing mentors is real big on having a schedule of what, when and where to post you content and to just commit to sticking to the schedule over the long run. As you do this the results will come and as they do the confidence you will have will increase allowing you to create even more and better content in the future leading to more engagement and sales for your business.
It is simply up to you to keep learning and creating new content and sticking to the plan.
